Monthly team schedule
Entire month at a glance · select any date to change a shift · choose a worker to apply a ready-made rotation.
Patterns repeat across months. Individual day edits override the pattern. Existing appointments remain intact and are reviewed if a shift becomes unavailable.
People and permissions
A username identifies an individual; membership determines which workspace they can open; their role controls what data they can read and change. The role switcher on this prototype only demonstrates views — it does not authenticate anyone.
Access model
Owner / organizer
Manages all authorized unit appointments, resources, members, services, hours, and invitation settings. Sensitive details still follow purpose-based rules.
Worker / family member
Sees their own assignments and relevant shared information. Other private calendar events remain busy/free unless explicitly shared.
Customer / guest
Sees bookable availability, their own bookings, and public shared events. Never receives other customers' names or private appointments.
Scheduling settings
Control the time choices customers see in this workspace. Changes apply to future availability—not the times of existing bookings.
What works here — and what a real launch needs
This self-contained HTML file is a functional interaction prototype. It intentionally operates entirely in your browser, without connecting to or modifying any Observatory system.
Working in this demo
Month navigation, seven expandable task catalogs, staff-specific weekly shifts, date overrides, sickness/vacation periods, reviewed appointment transfers, stable worker/service IDs, booking and conflict checks, family availability, and JSON export/import.
Not yet connected
Real usernames/passwords, cross-phone sharing, secure server authorization, multi-user transaction locking, reminders, invitations, RSVP delivery, and calendar integrations need a deployed backend.
Production foundation
One central application with individual accounts, workspace membership, role-scoped APIs, auditable appointments, configurable templates, a transactional database, mobile web/PWA, and server-side time-zone handling.
Data boundaries
All demo records are saved only to this browser's local storage. A person on another phone will not see them. This is by design, so the prototype does not misrepresent a local UI as a functioning multi-user service.
